Very enjoyable & agree with Mike about owning a van and suddenly gaining friends. However did Mike really have to dig people out who work in Fast Food restaurants. After all its the only job many people can get in these awful times and Mike by what I know was lucky in having a dad with the skill sets he now has. Motorbikes every time for me.

I couldn't resist pausing the video and googling "swangers"! What the f***!! Some of them were like a meter long. I cannot believe they are legal. Surely not in all 50 states anyway. You'd take out motorcycles, bikes and even the odd pedestrian, if you turned too tightly into a junction!They look crap too. It's like car customizers have really run out of fresh ideas on how to make their car stand out.
"It was in good condition before the accident", ha, what a turd! The story about the car, Mike looked at, with big scratches down one side . How dumb do people have to be to lie about the condition? Do they really think, by hiding the damage, they'll be able to do a deal without the buyer looking around the whole car and noticing it's not as advertised? Time wasters are just infuriating.

I first saw Mike Brewer in the early editions of wheeler dealer and immediately was put off, thinking he was just a prat. Later editions mellowed my opinion somewhat but seeing him here has changed my perception of him completely. He seems like a genuine guy and even the kind of guy I wouldn't mind sitting down with to chat about cars. I think the people who made wheeler dealers didn't shine the best of lights on him. But anyway, sorry Mike! Wouldn't mind seeing him on here more now, keep up the good work!

The comment about letting people cross the road, I live in a little village and was out for a walk, went to cross over but there was around 6/7 vehicles behind an old couple in an i20, I had my headphones in looked left and right saw it was busy so I took a little step back, but the woman driving slowed her car to a crawl and with a clearly rotten look on her face waved me to go across but in a similar way that previous comment described, making the vehicles behind her have to slow and stop but I waved at her that she had right of way because it would have taken 20ish seconds of waiting for it to be clear but instead she wasted time and caused a jam by stopping, but here's the funny bit, she started going for literally 10 metres then turned into their drive, I was just so confused on what her logic was like, it wasn't out of kindness because she was pure rotten, it was almost like she stopped just so she could hurry me along as if I was wasting her time, I'd like to make clear it was obvious I wasn't crossing as I literally looked both ways and stepped back a little, was just very strange behaviour on her part.
I had an E46 facelift M3 SMG in silver grey with black leather and sat-nav. It was a petrolhead itch & I bought it. Hated the SMG around town and hill starts, pretty much all my driving where I live. Wish I tried a manual but wanted a flappy paddle gearbox, even though you pull the paddle .... wait .... wait some more .... change gear. Don't regret buying it or selling it. I did lose money on it, this was about 6.5 years ago.

I did a rough calculation a while ago that was a low estimate of how much CO2 a human produces in a year, 1 breath (inhale and exhale) every 5 seconds using substantially less than maximum average lung capacity (6 litres), basically like each one of us sleeping for a year, and we produce over 2'000'000 grams of CO2, 2 tonnes of CO2 multiplied by basically 8 billion people, over 16 billion tonnes of CO2 produced by humans sleeping every year, probably in excess of 20 billion tonnes of CO2 for humans being awake and working/exercising. Switching off every ICE car in the world simultaneously wouldn't even come close to making up for a fifth of the CO2 released by us humans alone. And another thing I found a while ago, even if everything in the UK went full zero emissions overnight, electric cars etc, how long do you think it would take China's industrial growth to cancel out any contribution that has? 50 years, no, 10 years, no, 5 years, no. Only 18 *months* , 1.5 years. By the time we get around to all that 'zero emissions' rubbish, they could be expected to cancelled out any affect we could have tenfold.
Is it really a generational thing to, as a pedestrian, wave when traffic stops for you at a zebra crossing? If so, then I'm mentally 2 generations behind/ahead of my body. I've been driving from my 17th birthday and been driving few enough years to count on one hand, but I wave like an OAP when nice drivers stop at zebra crossings for me. :)
*The Ford S-Max is better looking that the majority of crossovers and SUVs* , as well as better handling, more practical, better performance (like for like engine) and economy (if that interests you), and I'm sure better price too. Edit; Skoda Yeti is the only vehicle from that 'category' that I like, although it would have to be 4X4. (end of edit) I'd have one over a Kuga or other manufacturer's crossover/softroader any day.
The discussion on those LED bars reminded me of Clarkson reviewing the F150 Raptor SVT with it's 'collapsed sun' on the roof, May driving too slow in front of him and, well, you get the idea of how it was used. :)
I was driving one evening and a BMW with those adaptive headlights (I've forgot the actual name if that's not it but it's those that use a camera in the middle of the windscreen to block out areas being illuminated where oncoming traffic is without the need for the driver to dip manually) was following another vehicle close and I got their full beam directly in the face as the driver's side headlight was in a position to blind me before the camera behind the mirror could detect me to block that area. It is not fun driving at 60mph in the dark then suddenly not being able to see anything for a few seconds because the tech failed to dip the super bright LED/matrix/(or whatever BMW calls it) headlights. Fortunately I was on a straight piece of road and didn't have an incident as a result. I could see something like that causing an incident in trickier conditions though.

IMO: There is no reason to stop production of petrol powered cars.. The developed countries especially in the west aren't the ones polluting the air.. Its the carbon output of developing countries like China & India.. The fact that the entire west are freaking out about this issue while there are countries in East Asia that literally doesn't give a damn about it, at the very least, should question the credibility of these claims..

Do you know what i do when someone turns on their high beams because they think i have mine on? Absolutely nothing, if they try to blind me than i just watch the lines on the road. why blind each other and possibly crash? I don't have LED's but i have bright halogen's and one of my headlights point up in the air and it wont budge. some people know my brights aren't on because my fog lights are on

My first comment on a podcast video, and there is alot to talk about... A couple of points id like to express: 1. Ev conversion is a great idea! Id love to see that, could team up with electric Classic cars? Also, there are more and more conversion kits available that are 100% reversable if needed. 2. Ev conversions often have more horsepower than standard engines. 3. You mentioned uk being one of the first to only sell electric new cars, but wasnt it France whonmade the agreement first? I worry about the price of the cars, but they will reduce in price moving forwards. Thanks for the podcast, always a laugh.
I went to see a car.. old people owned it. Looked okay, wasn’t perfect... I asked can I take it for a drive.. they asked for my driving license... I was like, what!? They wanted my driving license to make sure I was able to drive and things... at that point I walked away 🙄🙄 rude and time wasting.

I used to get annoyed by people not saying thanks (other cars or pedestrians) until my slightly more Buddhist girlfriend told me I should just do the nice things (like letting other out of junctions etc) just for yourself. Not for the thanks you might or might not receive.

I think led main beams are too bright. I have led drls/side lights and xenon main/full/fogs which are bright enough imo. Also something that grinds my gears in regards to crossings is when you’re driving towards a zebra crossing and you see a person walking towards who looks like they’re gonna cross it so you slow down and stop depending on how w]far away you are and they just walk past it or when you driving towards a crossing there’s a person who doesn’t look like you’re gonna cross then do all of a sudden cussing you to brake harshly (this is made even more annoying as a new driver with a black box as harsh braking affects your driving score)

36:15 YES! i HATE led headlights. It also doesnt help that i have sensory issues and light is brighter to me then what it is to other people. Ive even had to start wearing my sunglasses at night when there are to many cars on the road otherwise i literally cant see a thing coz the lights are so bright. Its worse then welding flash

LED headlights; So the other day I drive to work at like 3am, large road, countryside, construction work so just one lane and I have my high beams off, some guy keeps getting real close to my ass for about 10 minutes. Finally the road opens back up, he,in his Fabia, pulls out to overtake me and turns his highbeams on to really stick it to me and they barely illuminate anything So I give him a flick of my Volvos and pretty much light up everything to the nearest city, I love those highbeams

Speaking of what grinds my gears in regards to what mike was talking about in a way, I live out in the country and the speed limit is 45 mph in places and 55 in others. And there are so many people who drive 40 the entire time and having over an hour to drive one way to work and back it ****** me off like nothing else. I mean if it’s raining or foggy or whatever we fine. But for no reason driving under the speed limit out to be illegal. And it really blows my mind because sometimes I’ll get fed up and go to pass them and so they’ll turn the high beam on and start driving faster and I just don’t get it. If you get offended at being passed stop driving under the limit, especially when there are no literally cops ever in the area and we don’t have speed cameras. I just don’t get it. Would you rather be tailgated when you’re driving like a ***** or would you rather me go ahead and pass you so we can both be on our way at our own speeds. It’s just stupid.
